Senior Lisa Pak named to All-Liberty League First Team

TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its year-end field hockey awards and five Rensselaer student-athletes have been selected. Lisa Pak was chosen to the All-League First Team, while Kristiina Baker was named to the second team. Joanna Aliprando, Alex Lamparski and Megan McNamara received honorable mention recognition.

A senior midfielder from Methuen, Mass., Pak was second on the squad in assists (2), shots (41) and shots on goal (23). She was third in goals (3) and points (8). She helped the team to a top 20 ranking for three straight weeks, and led the Red Hawks on a six-game winning streak from September 13 through October 1.

In her career, the Methuen High School graduate played in 67 games, totaling nine goals and nine assists for 28 points. Pak took 96 shots, including 54 on goal. She is a multiple Dean’s List and multiple Liberty League All-Academic selection.

Baker, a senior forward who hails from Bolton, Mass., led Rensselaer in almost every offensive category, including goals (8), assists (4), points (20), shots (43) and shots on goal (29). She was seventh in the Liberty League in points per game (1.18) and eighth in goals per game (0.47).

A graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, Baker has played in 51 career games, starting 44. She amassed 19 goals and nine assists for 47 points. She had 96 shots, including 63 shots on goal, and earned multiple Dean’s List and Liberty League All-Academic honors.

A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., Aliprando led the Liberty League in defensive saves with six. A junior back, she helped the team to three shutouts, while contributing offensively with a goal and two assists for four points. The Ridge High School graduate was also named Liberty League All-Academic.

Lamparski, a junior back from Malvern, Pa., was second on the team and third in the Liberty League in defensive saves with three. She had a goal and an assist for three points, including the game-winning penalty stroke marker in a 1-0 win over Rochester. The Country Day School of the Sacred Heart graduate also had four shots on goal.

McNamara, a Johnstown, N.Y., native, was eighth on the team in points (4) with a goal and two assists and was sixth in shots (21). She ranked eighth in the Liberty League in shots on goal percentage (.762). The junior midfielder is a graduate of Johnstown High School.
